Milestones in EUWID history
1926
The first EUWID publication appears in Berlin: Founder Dr. Herbert Strencioch publishes the first edition on newsletter for the wood industry.
1945
The first post-war editions appear as early as summer 1945. The synthetic fibre and plastics news services are launched.
1968
Dr. Casimir Katz acquires the publishing house and relocates it from Berlin to Gernsbach in the Black Forest.
1970
The German-language publication for the pulp and paper industry, “EUWID Papier und Zellstoff”, is launched. Research of market prices and data becomes our hallmark.
1977
The first trainee is trained as an editor.
1980
The first English-language publications are launched: EUWID Pulp and Paper and EUWID Timber Service (today EUWID Wood Products and Panels).
1990
The waste industry news service EUWID Recycling und Entsorgung is added to our portfolio. The publishing house continues to grow, with investments in printing technology, logistics and sales.
1995
The fortnightly publication EUWID Recycling and Waste Management appears for the first time.
1997
EUWID’s staff exceeds 50 employees for the first time.
1998
EUWID Wasser und Abwasser is added to the portfolio, providing news for the water and wastewater sector.
2001
EUWID celebrates its 75th anniversary.
2008
Dr. Martin Katz succeeds his father as managing director of EUWID.
2015
The product range is expanded and optimised. EUWID introduces flexible subscription models to better meet the needs of large organisations.
2020
EUWID has over 80 employees for the first time.
2022
Relaunch of the EUWID publications’ websites with new digital features and offerings.
2023
EUWID has over 12,500 business customers.
